Cllr Ian Maher is the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Portfolio Lead for Employment and Skills.

Cllr Ian Maher has been a Member of Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council since 2 May 1996 (19 years) and currently represents Netherton and Orrell Ward. He is the Leader of Sefton Council/Labour Group. He sits on the following Council committees: Cabinet (Chair), Council, South Sefton Area Committee

He also sits on the following outside bodies: Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership Board, Local Government Association General Assembly, Political Lead, LCR Employment and Skills Combined Authority
